My Personal UFO encounter in 1970This is not a joke, but I thought you all would find it entertaining.
In the spring or fall of 1970(not sure of the exact date...I just remember there were no leaves on the trees), I was out for a drive in my 1962 Corvette at 9:30 p.m. . Top was down and I was blowing it out on hwy 96w about 6 miles west of Franklin, Tn approaching the bridge across the West Harpeth river.
I noticed a light to my right and turned off my headlights and parked on the bridge and got out and walked over to the railing.
There was a crisply defined white globe about 4 feet in diameter about 20 feet over the water and moving toward the bridge at a speed of only about 3 miles per hour . The globe was perfectly round and giving off a pure white light. It made no sound at all. When it got about 35 feet from me, I raised my right hand and WAVED at it. Whatever small entity that was inside it saw me standing there about a second later and changed course from a southwest path to a northwest direction and lifted over the line of trees that are about 300 feet north of the bridge. I could see it lift over the trees and go behind them and then it disappeared.
I drove down a side road next to the river looking for it, but never saw it again.
There were no other witnesses since this was a very rural area back then.
What struck me the most about this object was that it was moving toward me and then changed direction with no wavering just as though it was on a track. I guess I am one of the few people that ever surprised a ufo.
This area is a prehistoric indian site and there are 3 indian mounds just south of the bridge. Don't know if that had anything to do with things or not, but whatever was in the ufo was very interested in the water and I apparently interrupted them.
End of story, but I have thought about this event about every day for 37 years now.
To further prove that I am nuts, I sold the Corvette for $1,350. Exactly what I paid for it less $25 I knocked off because it had a bad muffler. It would be worth about $75,000 today.

That is very cool; I wish I could see something like that!
Too bad about the 'Vet though; I bet you think about it pretty often too!

I still kick myself for selling the Corvette.
I blame my stupidity on my dad. He had an autobody shop from 1947 to 1998. In 1968 he bought a wrecked 1967 Corvette for $1,200 and rebuilt it.
It was dark green and had black leather seats, 427 motor with 3 two barrell carbs, redline tires, air conditioning, 4-speed trans, 435 hp, 12,000 miles.
He sold it for $2,400. Today it is the most desirable Corvette ever and would be worth $250,000.
Like father, like son!
