Is the $11 Plan the vote of the POAD majority?

Hello Fellow POADIES,

We are supposed to have 500 members; so I am curious as to why it is that only 178 cast their votes on our latest plan. I feel that we should have added a third option in addition to Options 1 & 2, Option 3 being Neither. I was about to suggest this but was caught up with some offline matters and by the time I was ready to make this suggestion, I discovered that the topic had been locked.

There are some amongst us who are not concerned about potential dropouts with our return to a monthly cost program. Their argument is that anyone who is not prepared to invest just $7 or $11 to build a business can't be serious and not having these people in POAD would not be a loss to us.

In many parts of the world, $7 or $11 is a lot of money. Even though the USD has depreciated in recent months against most major currencies, it still commands a premium to most currencies in Asia and that of the developing economies.

Those of you who have travelled outside of North America will appreciate this - $11 in many countries could feed entire families.

Also, consider this. According to internetworldstats, as at March 2007, Asia had the highest number of internet users at 399 million, followed by Europe with 315 million and North America at 233 million. And the number of internet users in China alone is projected to surpass that of the US anytime now. In China and India, $11 would be able to put food on the table TWO times a day for many families.

We all know the statistics - 95% of the opportunity seekers on the Net have had limited online success. The real money is being made by the 5%. To get people to pay $11 for a traffic exchange program will be tough in my view. And the 1 cent payouts will bear much explaining; and how many will stick around to hear the explanations of how these 1 cent payouts should be viewed against that of the new positions that are created daily? The time taken to explain our program in detail could be better used trying to recruit other members. Always remember KISS, Keep It Short and Simple.

Is our program easy to understand? Perhaps we should have a show of hands as to how many of us have a grasp on how much we will be earning based on our current membership number of 500.

If there are fellow POAD members who are not hot on the $11 plan, as a result of which you did not cast your votes, please post your comments, views and suggestions here. Since our selection process ensures that we are all contactable, it would be safe to assume that most of us would have read about the new program so it would be immensely interesting to understand the reasons as to why 322 of us did not vote.

I will end by saying that the real tragedy for POAD would be to think that $11 is not too much; and that those who dropout after a while do not see the bigger picture. In my view, if we price ourselves out of the market, and ignore the large number of internet users in China and India, where $11 is by no means a miniscule sum, then WE are the ones who do not see the bigger picture.

I really want POAD to succeed, not least because of leaders like Joseph, Phil and Lee Brehm who have given so much for the team.

Would it possible to rework the numbers and program structure to see whether we can reduce the $11 cost?

But then again, it may be just me.

LONG LIVE POAD!

Vote

I had a problem with the total of the people voting also. Our program being passed with only 178 votes. Although, I thought we had 1,000's of members. So with only 500 members it sounds better than what I thought, but still not good for a company that is suppose to work for the cause of everyone. Very Happy

Hi Adrienne,
I read your post with interest as I thought you raised a number of points and concerns that also have been echoed by other POAD Team Members. I’m just going to make a couple of comments on the affordability of $11 and the concerns of a 1cent commission on the positions below you in the matrix, as these seem to be the ones that appear more than most.

Personally my focus is not on the 1cent commission on the positions below you in the Traffic Exchange matrix. I look at the Traffic Exchange as the vehicle to generate the $72 required to enter the other four paying programs. It’s also been commented that the re-entry facility should be the main focus in our promotion, and I totally agree. This should not be underestimated, we must not forget that as the re-entries we earn from our surfing three sites per day, generate $72 they will also be entered into the four paying programs.

·At the Bottom of Josephs post detailing the poll for the 2 plans:
In both plans, your beginning earnings to cover the other programs will be deducted first and you will be placed into those programs and paid for. (That is for all positions including extra positions)

Effectively this means the Traffic Exchange is the main feeder program for the other 4 paying programs. Perhaps our attention and focus should be directed towards this direction rather than a 1 cent commission.

Although I did vote for plan 2 and would do the same again my first reaction was no as I thought this may be beyond what some people are prepared to pay or quite simply couldn’t afford. Sadly this would mean we would be turning people away, but with that said, we are in a business, whether we think it or not, with the potential to change our lives. After all isn’t that why we joined POAD in the first place. However I take on board your comments that $11 is a great deal of money in some countries.

So the question is, as a Team what are we going to do about it? How can we help? There have already been some suggestions and offers of help in another thread, but as a Team can we do more? Maybe, I don’t know but if this concerns the Team then perhaps the Team needs to step upto the plate instead of waiting for our leaders to come up with a solution.

Tate has offered to pay people for a few hours of online work each month. As a Team maybe we could the same, if people wanted their $11 a month subsidised by say for example $6 They could join a POAD Marketing Team, surfing Traffic Exchanges, submitting to safe lists etc.

This would not only help the Team grow to faster but also give the people needing a subsidy a sense of dignity that they are still contributing to the Team and not getting a free ride or hand out. Perhaps, if there were Team members who felt strongly enough about this, and they were prepared to donate a small percentage of their earnings to fund this, then maybe this could be a possible solution for the future. If 100 people donated $5 a month that would be enough to subsidise 83 at $6 a month until they reached their first$72.

Maybe this will slowly generate further discussion, over time, I’m not really sure. I suppose my point is if the Team is concerned that the $11 is an issue then its upto the Team to find a solution.

There are no excuses.

Tate has offered work for those that cannot afford it.

Just pm him.

If someone is not willing to do that then they are not serious.

Well, I just wonder. When we get to thousands of members and some of them are not able to afford the $11 monthly cost, will Tate have work for thousands of them?

My member ID is 5236, so I guess I am early enough to earn some money in the first month. I am also fortunate in that the $11 is not a problem for me, so the points that I have put across is for the benefit of other members.

Good luck to all of us.

My thoughts..

We have tried many things in this program and thank goodness for the persistence of Joseph and all the other long time members.

POAD has been in existence for over a year now so I really respect those who have hung in since then.

You cannot help everyone and this is not a charity.

There are programs on the net now that will help a person raise $11.00.

True. Tate cannot employ thousands but as this program grows, many of us
( yes that includes me ) will be willing to offer scholarships and subsidies to those in need.

Those who care must take the time to vote and be heard. They did.

I know that there are people who care that didn't vote but what good does that do for anybody.

Joseph and now Tate have been very gracious in what they have done as far as hosting of this site and providing programmers.

...All to provide a life changing opportunity for us. The input we've had is a privilege and not a right.

The plan is the best I've seen and the penny payout is bigger than you think when you compound it over many days.

Sometimes you gotta move and not suffer paralysis by analysis.

Have you seen ' The Pursuit of Happyness ' ? As Joseph said, 'The motivated will be helped in this program by those who can help'

Peace.

I never said that this is a charity and that we should help everyone. You completely miss my points which are -

1. To strive for as low an entry and subscription cost as possible so that we can pull in the masses (read my first post on the huge markets in China and India), and
2. Minimise the dropout rate. That way, we would be addressing the problem at source rather than down the road.

How many of us are guilty of scolling to the bottom of a page to find out the cost of a program before we decide whether or not we are going to read its details? I know I am; if I find the cost to be outside my budget, I will just move on to the next page. And it doesn't matter how good that program's Payplan is because I would not have stuck around long enough to read about it.

There has been some mention in this forum of a program called Cash Development. It is a really excellent program with an equally excellent Admin where one starts off paying just $2 every 14 days; with the subscription increasing in tandem with your referrals and hence earnings. With just 2 referrals, you're already in profit, which is a very big PLUS considering that the average networker is only able to recruit 2.6 people. For the tiny starting cost of just $2 every 14 days, you have access to autoresponders, hosting, ad trackers, email accounts and safelist mailings. But despite the incredible value, even at the $2 level, there are people who drop out from this program.

Yes, I know you will say that these people can't be serious about building a business. But the point is that it is almost a certainty programs which cost more will experience a higher dropout rate. All I am suggesting is that with a lower dropout rate, our time could be better spent concentrating on training our new people to recruit, rather than filling the holes consistently being created in our matrices, and finding work for those people who are not able to afford the $11 a month.

Well, that's all water under the bridge now.

Perhaps you or the programmer could create an Excel Calculator where we can input our variables and parameters and it will calculate our matrix earnings. I know that people will ask me how much they can earn with this program and I want to be ready with the answer.

And yes, I seriously wonder whether our software/scripts will be able to keep up with the growth of our matrices Rolling Eyes I sure hope so.

Good Luck, everyone!

Good Post Adrienne

I actually had voted for the $7.00 plan because of similar concerns to yours.

Perhaps we can find a 'sister' program that our cash strapped POADsters can use to raise the capital for this one.

Tate did one breakdown but perhaps I will try to show a scenario of earnings with just the folks we have now.

Also, I think that this plan addresses attrition in the following ways :

1. People will see their downline growing which tends to keep people around longer even when they are not in profit.
2. I think that the wait time to break even will be pretty low.

I think the subsidy program is a great idea. I'm willing to offer work as well, on an individual basis, for people who simply cannot afford the $11 a month. But it would be nice if the program supported a subsidy in place, so that I could pay POAD directly and know the money was going for the program.

Great idea

Great idea! I would PM Admin about that. It's great your willing to help the team out Smile

I just saw this and I think I get the drift. My vote would be to use $11 and let those who can't earn that much from the hundreds of programs online giving away free money stand on the sidelines and watch. When they see what starts to happen, they will find the money.

Personally I haven't even read the pay plan in depth and don't plan to. When my checks come I'll just cash them. In my opinion the advertising is worth far more than $11 a month and that's why I'm so excited.
